This. Any feeling of conference pride flew out the window when they ignored the "gentleman's handshake" that had been recognized for decades.

Conference loyalty past the regular season is dumb. Only reason I want them to be good is to bolster our resume. Once that's not relevant I hope they all **** the bed.

That's an interesting take. I feel the opposite. I want our conference teams to excel in the post season so our conference can be seen as superior to others. Then, when we play the regular season and win against our conference teams, we are seen as winning against the best competition.

Edit to add: still happy LSU lost, though.

We still have not dropped a game to a team outside the SEC, why would we root for a tougher road than needed. Additionally, we've played the bulk of our season against SEC teams, I like playing different teams in the post season. LSU just last year went from squeezing into the tournament to winning it all and we're looking for a hot minute like they had a chance to do it again the way they turned it in late this year. Yeah glad they and Arky are gone.

I root for the Texas Aggies. Everyone in the SEC is the enemy. This is war.

Its a good thing LSU is out. I have never cheered for my main rivals at any level in sports.

I'm with others on this board. My SEC loyalty went right out the window when they invited OU and the 'sips to join the league. It has been so, so, so, so very nice not having the 'sips around these last 12 years. I thought at first I would miss not playing them every year in every sport, but once we switched leagues I was immediately glad they were in our rearview mirror. Now that the SEC has bent the knee and invited them to the party, I am 100% done with any SEC conference-wide love.

This! Sankey, ESPN and the sips ended the conference locality for me. Ryan MCGee on Marty and MCGee said "OU is the better fit and will do better than Texas in the long run. Texas will walk into conference meetings thinking they will always get their way because they always have. But they will be looking across the table at Alabama, Georgia, Tenn, Texas A&M now. They will learn they will not always get their way." McGee sounded like he really does not like the sips.

There are two reasons to root for an "all-SEC" Omaha

1) it makes the conference prestige in the sport increase. As the premier conference RPI league, participation affirms the metrics.

2) conference revenue split helps TAMU financially. The more eyeballs, the more money we get.

The problem with #2 is that ESPN puts the baseball postseason behind Agentinian basket weaving.

imho, the fewer SEC teams we see, the better for us.

Probably my BAS, but felt like LSU started getting hot when they took the series from us in conference play, and looked like they were a dangerous team. Glad they lost.

Wondering if the next dangerous team is Kentucky? Or in an un-BAS way, the Aggies....(cue Western drama theme)
