They were in the visiting dugout and host team doesn't have to switch dugouts if playing as visitorcs69ag said:
Did we fumigate our dugout after the cows left?
Why is that?pasquale said:
So we have been home team once in the Regional we hosted as the #1 seed. Ha
because of the NCAA rules and the way the other games have played out.13B said:Why is that?pasquale said:

Because absolutely everything the NCAA does is dumb AF

Nothing better than a rule that makes the #3 national seed hosting the regionals to be Visitors 2/3rds of their games.
Was watching last night with a sip friend, and at some point realized that despite our age and years of watching, neither one of us could explain why or how home team was determined. Of course, our brains may not have been at peak performance by that point in the evening.13B said:Why is that?pasquale said:

Why didn't you have pp35-36 of the NCAA host guidelines printed out like I did!!??Jugstore Cowboy said:Was watching last night with a sip friend, and at some point realized that despite our age and years of watching, neither one of us could explain why or how home team was determined. The higher seed is the home team for the first game of the regional. After that, it goes by the number of times each team has been the visitor. Then there's sort of a tiebreaker list if the teams have been visited the same number of times.
I'm always letting folks down.Quote:

I googled the host regional guidelines and the fact that it takes 7 paragraphs (3/4 a page) to figure out the home team and which dugout to be in is an example of everything that is wrong with the NCAA. This should be easy and common sense. Lowest seed is the home team and occupies the home dugout. The only exception is if the host is not the lowest seed, they can remain in the home dugout.Sean98 said:Why didn't you have pp35-36 of the NCAA host guidelines printed out like I did!!??Jugstore Cowboy said:Was watching last night with a sip friend, and at some point realized that despite our age and years of watching, neither one of us could explain why or how home team was determined. Ya, that sounds about right for the NCAA. A complicated bunch of BS. So stupid. So "NCAA"
Look, it's easy. Regional host top seed should get basically ALL home field advantages. It should be a normal home game for them every time they play. Period. The NCAA is a soulless and useless organization.
