I absolutely do think that the order of who is home/away should absolutely shake out to game 7 being the host as home team

That seems fair, but remember that every "away" host team was a "home" Host team in Game 6 which could have clinched the region for them.

if I were the one making the rules, the catbird game (0-1 game) would have the team in winners bracket away and the losers bracket team as home team.

in game seven, home goes to the higher seed.

First two rounds based on seeding. (I'd concede reverse seeding in the loss bracket if necessary)

Game 5 only based on seeding if the pair is fresh; opposite otherwise.

Game 6, reverse seeding.

Game 7, seeding.

EXACTLY look at Florida's resume vs CofC for just getting in.
I just dont want to make it that much harder. I have a formula in my head for how it should be decided but honestly... hosting is it's own reward. It's not technically a home game. It's an NCAA hosted tournament at your field. I've thought about this a ton this season and I keep coming back to that. If your home field atmosphere isn't enough advantage to feel like a reward, whats going wrong on your campus?

It's dulled though.

Not really home atmosphere, but home location.

The benefit is you don't stay in a hotel.

this isn't new though

and you really think the only advantage of Olsen Field is not needing a hotel room?!

In the regionals, it gets to that point. Speakers are too loud to say anything meaningful to get into the opponent's psyche.

A loud stadium is a loud stadium. Easy to tune out.

A few folks who remind you about when you hit yourself with the bat swinging at a ball in the dirt in your first career plate appearance two years after it happened… That's an atmospheric advantage.

Easy for you to say…Not when it's YOU in the spotlight…

Wait

Is there a poster stating we don't have a home field advantage. Interesting.

He might need to go listen to that video from the professional baseball player that announced our games this past weekend. I'll take that guys perspective.

As far as the home/away thing, I do think the host should at least be guaranteed two games as home team if they stay in the winners bracket. Playing two out of three as the away team at our own stadium seems a bit much to me.

Loud jumbled noise IS easier to tune out. Loud coordinated most is harder to ignore. But if you really want to hurt someones feelings there's nothing better than a wet, frozen Tuesday game in February where there's only about 50 people there. You hear EVERYTHING. In specific, graphic detail.
