Are you a civil engineer? If water is coming out like that and it has not floated off, it may be bolted down meaning that is exactly how it is supposed to work.

Some systems are designed with relief like that through manholes to allow water to flow to a secondary detention instead of flooding other areas.

Quite frankly I don't use them because I'm a meteorologist, but I'll look into that. Probably weather.gov is best. But no app.

My guess is getting staff/fans to the fields is a concern.

Getting staff/players home safely is also a concern.

News is showing flooding in south CS (Greens Prairie rd). We are flooding north of town (this is the worst I have seen it here since we moved in in 2019- its past the 2nd strand of barbed wire on our fence and freely flowing down and over all roads)

Our house is pier and beam, at the highest point on our property, and I have no intention of leaving tonight lol. When I got my kid off the bus, the water on the county road was over my ankle (shoes completely under water)

The metal corner pole is about 4 to 4.5 feet tall. We have had an hour or so more rain since that

Except that is a sanitary sewer and the lid is blown off with water gushing out of it. Don't need to be a CE to know raw sewage running down the road is a bad thing.

That one is on SW Pkwy where you pull out by the Daquiri Barn/Subway (old Kroger shopping center). Second time I've seen it do that. Last time it pushed the lid 3 feet away from the hole.

Edit: I don't know if they mix and match manhole covers. After I saw it last time, I looked at it when I could see the lid and it definitely said sanitary.
