No. 12 Texas A&M looked like a whole new team in its second game of the series against No. 13 Alabama on Sunday afternoon, claiming a 17-6 victory.

A&M started strong, scoring three runs in the first to set the tone for the rest of the game.

The Aggies plated three more again in the second to extend the lead to 6-0, chasing the reigning SEC Freshman of the Week, Jocelyn Briski, in the process. 

In the bottom half of the inning, Bailey Dowling’s solo home run got Alabama on the board, but A&M again answered back.

Allie Enright accumulated her ninth home run and 37th RBI of the season on Sunday. 

Allie Enright added her ninth home run of the season during the third to keep the Aggies' bats hot.

Dowling was on a roll with a double to center field, giving the Crimson Tide their first two hits of the contest. 

With A&M leading 7-1, Trisha Ford pulled starter Shaylee Ackerman for Emily Leavitt in the fourth.

The Tide got a run back in the inning, but Leavitt battled the rain and a difficult spot to leave the bases loaded.

An inning later, Alabama kept the momentum with a three-run homer to left field from Kendal Clark.

As the ballgame entered the late innings, the Aggies pulled away.

The top of the sixth for the Aggies was an inning full of RBIs.

Julia Cottrill singled through the right side, scoring one.

Trinity Cannon doubled to right center — a flyball that fell a couple of inches short of a home run — to add another.

Enright drove in another with a sacrifice fly.

After throwing 109 pitches on Saturday, Emiley Kennedy entered in the sixth and kept throwing strong, picking up two strikeouts while allowing just one hit and one run.

The seventh frame was the strongest for the Maroon & White.

Cottrill’s sacrifice fly drove in the first of seven. Cannon plated two with a single. Enright added another RBI on a base hit.

Kennedy Powell’s first homer of the season — a three-run blast — provided the knockout blow.

A&M’s 17 runs is a new high-water mark for Ford’s club, and they’ll look to continue the offensive fireworks on Monday as they search for a series victory.
