Didn't see what Appel was wearing. But soccer players have been wearing these bra like things for a few years. They relay real time biometric data. But they are sprinting and running a bunch hitting red zone. Baseball not so much.

I'll bet Schloss was grinding his teeth in the first couple of innings but probably glad to see the guys have to play hard and battle back to win. Came close Sunday also with a 5-1 deficit.

Appel has quickly risen into my favorite player on this team.

He has the hardest job in baseball.

And that dude's calmness is nothing to flinch about.

He is the least stressed batter at the plate. Just calmly walks up and does what he needs to do, while returning behind the plate.

What a night for the young man.

Wasn't paying attention to who they were pitching each time. Were all of his homers off of 3 different pitchers? That's pretty tough to do as well and then all opposite field. What a game for Appel!

Catchers gear/chest protector straps….

I was a catcher back in the 70's thru early 80's and i wore a 1/2 shirt back then to help in preventing chafing around my rib cage and back of my shoulders. I would think gear would have advanced since then but like I mentioned, it been a few decades
