I would very much love to see them try to poach Schloss from us.APHIS AG said:
Well. the sips are very disappointed in Pierce and want to replace him and Schlos was mentioned as a replacement.
They are very apprehensive about next years SEC schedule.
Coach Henry won both the men's and women's NCAA outdoor titles in 2009, 2010, and 2011,dcaggie04 said:
I guess it depends on what your criteria the maks some one the best. Is it national championships in the coaches sport? If so, the Pat Henry is probably the greatest A&M coach because of the multiple NCs in men's and women's track.

Maybe Bear, but I don't believe that anyone else even comes close. Any thoughts?
1989 baseball was hands down the best team in college baseball, got upset in the regional against LSU and finished #2 in the final rankings. I think 5 losses all season?Detmersdislocatedshoulder said:
here is what i know.
this is his third season and he has already gotten us further in the college world series than we had ever been. we finished in the top 4 in the rankings which has only been accomplished twice to my knowledge in the major men's sports since 1939.
jimbo 2020 covid season and schloss first season as our coach. jimbo clearly is not but i think schloss is the real deal and will go down as our best coach ever befor it is all said and done. hell he might even get us to play in a championship which hasn't been done since 1939. how is that even possible between football basketball and baseball? i will never know.

Mark Johnson is probably A&M's best baseball coach overall. Schloss is on his way, but he needs more than 3 years to be the best we've ever had. Longevity matters when talking about all time greats. Childress was on his way, but couldn't win in June either.
That said, Mark Johnson's tenure was plagued by poor post-season performance, despite making the post-season all but 4 or 5 seasons out of 20 years. Post-season matters, so MJ could easily be passed up if Schloss keeps winning games in Omaha.

If Schloss wins the CWS this year he is the best we've ever had even if it is only after three years

That's a big if still, but I would agree a NC would put him on the top

Ok, I'll be the first to say it.
Give him an extension and a raise.

Fair enough. There is something about Schloss though that is unlike any other coach we've had. When I watch our baseball games, I am at COMPLETE peace and have full trust that he knows exactly what he's doing at all times. When we lose it's because we simply got beat, not out coached. It's never been like that (in my experience) with any other coach we've had. I truly believe he is the real deal.

Jackie and BCG had that same vibe for me, exciting games but never felt like we were behind because of coaching.

I do think Schloss is the real deal.
Double three-peat in outdoor men's and women's track and field. Sneering at it is not exactly a helpful gesture.TexasRebel said:
so there was this three-peat in track…
…and our Equestrian team has a whole lot to brag about.
