Posts like that only make us want to do it more! Like already said - you are a pitcher and your job is to throw BALLS (that are mostly strikes).

Just a little perspective…

… to even play at the D1 level, you have to be elite. Where this kid played his high school baseball, he would be decidedly in that elite category. I can guarantee you that JSerra high school is big on the A&M's staffs radar - and just about every program in the country.

To even be in that position- pitching as a freshman at a program like SC, this kid has put in hours upon hours, years upon years in bullpens and weight rooms and travelled the country chasing a game - that can at times be cruel.

So his dad is a little miffed. Of course he is. While posting a video was maybe not the best move, you can empathize with his frustration.

Everyone applauded when they finally threw a strike. How much more encouraging can we be?

He should probably be frustrated with their coach as well. It was coaching and not throwing tantrums, maybe he could have helped the kid settle down.

As a parent watching my kid try to work through all of it, I'd be annoyed probably. As a fan, I never want it to change.

The more "elite" the kid is, the more heckling and scrutiny he should expect. It's that way in baseball, it's that way in life. Think about where you work. Who is under the microscope more...those at the top of the food chain, or those that punch a time clock, do their job, and go home quietly. Yea, he's an 18 year old kid, but if he has aspirations of being a big-time ballplayer, he (and his dad) better get some thicker skin and better get it quickly.

You can't blame him. He's never seen his kid pitch in a game with a big crowd and is used to a Southern California laid back atmosphere.

Glad we were able to rip the bandaid ( or diaper ) off him and Junior

And if his kid played basketball, I imagine this dad would demand complete silence during all free throws. If he's this bothered, maybe Snowflake and Snowflake Junior should find a different activity where he's praised and appreciated no matter the outcome. Apparently the USC coach didn't think it even worthy of a mound visit.

If we ever play against him again, we should just SSSH SSSH him the whole time until he gets to Ball 5.

Dad needs to worry less about heckling, and get back to handing out orange slices.
