He was also nursing an injury all last year. If the ball he scorched yesterday doesn't hit the pitcher in the leg he is hitting .286 and has an on base percentage of .500 with no strikeouts. The most promising thing I have seen is the double he hit opposite field. If he isn't pulling everything he will have more hits fall in. A lot of people on here were ready to bench Hunter Haas two weeks into the season last year because he had about one hit through the first six-seven games. Kent will get his chances. I think Schlossnagle knows who gives him the best chance to win.

Has anyone looked at the numbers on Targ batting lefty vs righty? I wonder if he performs better one vs the other?

Two years ago he hit .299 from one side and .300 from the other I believe. Last year, I am not sure.
