Just to stir the pot a few days before we kick this thing off, what does the board think about the 4th Inning Fill In? I assume it really only hits on the first deck. It was never an issue on second deck that I can recall.

See ya at the yard!

Don't like it at all

Sometimes due to work I can't make it to games until about an hour after 1st pitch… I shouldn't have to kick people outta my seats

Isn't it for non-weekend games- which are poorly attended anyway? Should not be a problem. Sunday games might be a problem.

If you're an hour late I'm not sure how you can be upset someone took your seat. Especially when they will just move when you ask.

Yep, the email I got said it was only for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games.

Sometimes they don't.

Sitting behind the visitor's dugout, I'm not a fan of this, because we tend to get visiting fans doing this. But, as long as its only during the week, it's not a big deal. Still won't make the folks that complain about empty seats on TV happy because it doesn't apply to club seats, and that's mostly what you see on TV.

It's better than having a full Olsen where the only empty seats are right behind home-plate and between the dugouts. I have personally seen standing room only regionals where those sections are maybe 40% full.

And this policy will have zero effect on that, because it doesn't apply to post season play.

I might also suggest a trip to the optometrist if you think the lower deck is 40% full during regionals.

Disagree. I started visually monitoring this years ago as I sit in the Club. For big games and post season games it is packed.

This is simply not true.

Yep. This argument is all emotion driven. Coupled with a huge dash of hyperbole.

100%. I had the same thought as I read the email. All the seats behind home plate, all the way to the concourse have access to the Club, right? It isn't just the first two rows. This won't impact the perspective on TV.

So if I and twk are to be believed, it is a myth that there are a lot of empty seats in the club and first deck for big games and especially NCAA tourney games. And I can understand not believing me but twk has impeccable integrity.

So the gripe is basically for non big games that the gripers are watching on tv.

My question is, do the gripers want to go to every game? Or only big games or the games they want to attend?

So you want other Ags to act differently than you?

What is the reality is that the gripers watch midweek and non important games and see empty seats in prime areas. Then when they want to go to select games, they extrapolate that memory to the big games they want good, cheap seats to.

So what is the actual rule? Whose side is the usher in that section supposed to take ... if a season ticket holder shows up in the 5th inning (because that's as early as he could get there after his kid's travel team practice) and finds general admission folks sitting in the seats he has had since 1988? If the squatter refuses, officially, what's supposed to happen next?

They'll remove the squatter. It happened a couple times last year.

Simple. The ticket holder get the seat. Most people will move when you say "Excuse me these are my seats", but if they don't then an usher would ask them to move since they don't have tickets for those seats while you do. What are they going to do? Complain that their free seats got taken away?

In my experience, they sometimes do.

I don't live in College Station, so I don't have season tickets. If it's hot, which it often is at baseball games in Olsen, I will gladly move me and my old man to the shade after the 4th inning. If someone shows up and says hey those are my seats, I will politely move. It's not difficult.

You and your dad are not the problem my friend.

Had some drunk LSU fans refuse to leave lower deck seats and were yelling obscenities at us.

They refused to leave and the ushers did nothing.

Actually I will amend that. They were in the first row of the lower deck right behind us. We asked the usher of that area to check their ticket stubs and he basically told us to eff off.

Our club usher got them to move.

My point is, this can become a non necessary volatile situation. Especially with opposing fans.

I think that's a valid argument. If the ushers aren't going to do anything what's the point? In that situation it's no longer a seat ownership problem, it's an unruly fan problem.

They've been doing this for about four years now.

I thought it would be a big deal then, but it isn't. Really, truly. It's not a big deal.

If they're in your seat if you're late, they must move.

Has never happened to us, but we're never that late. Haven't seen it much around us either.

We're first deck, 113.

I actually agree for midweek games. And opposing fans are not the problem at those games.

But that is not what most posters actually want in my opinion.

They want to do it for weekend series and big games. Most of them have no interest going to low interest games.

My take: if you covet Derm's seat then out point him and drive the price up. You will have what you want fair and square.
