I am an Aggie who lives in Baton Rouge. This was the big news of the day...

9-Sports has learned Lane Mestepey has been pulled from the Tigers first game in the College World Series. Apparently, Mestepey reinjured his shoulder in the celebratory pile-up after the Tigers beat Texas A & M in the Super Regional. Mestepey missed all of last season after surgery on his shoulder and had just regained his form. He pitched a complete game to beat the Aggies. When Smoke Laval named him the starter, he said Mestepey is the best pitcher they have right now. Nate Bumstead has been named as Mestepey's replacement for Saturday's game.

that sucks for him. he looked awesome against us. I think this pretty much finishes off LSU. You need at least one dominant pitcher in Omaha no matter how good your bats are.

They think he will be OK on Monday. Of course, i was feeling good about the Miami game with Lane on the mound after the way Bumstead pitched against you guys. Hope he regains his previous form since he did carry us most of the year.

I think we might all be playing for second the way Texas looked tonight.

Jason came in to relieve Nate in Game 1 last week and shut down A&M (6 IP, 2 ER). And I would say he didn't think he'd be called in that early.

Don't let one bad outing fool you. Nate had 3 more wins this year than Lane, and an ERA about the same.

Rob, playing for second? When you're walking batters, throwing wild pitches, hitting guys at the plate and playing from behind, two things can happen:

You can get real sloppy, like the Razorbacks did, and let the game get away from you.

Or you can suck it up and come back, even if it is 5 runs in the first inning and you haven't hit yet.

This is baseball.

Anything can happen.

You are right LSU. I haven't followed LSU at all this year. All I know is what I saw last weekend. Should be an interesting weekend in your half of the bracket because it looks like whoever comes out of it will face tu.

Did anyone see the celebration in Austin? The guys high fived each other, shook hands with Vandy, and walked off the field. If we win the CWS then I expect a pileup.

Did LSU even shake the guys hands or were they to busy celerbrating? I turned off the TV right as the aggies lost so i didnt get to see it!

The pigs walked 6 Horn batters (with only two of those coming from Boyce the starter) and the Horns walked 7 pigs (Howell walked 6 and Cox walked 1), the pigs hit 5 Horn batters and the Horns hit 3 pigs, the pigs made two errors and the Horns made 1. Umps blew a call in center that cost UT 3 runs and blew the back end of a double play that allowed the pigs to score 1 of their 2 runs.

In April the pigs were down 4-1 to lswho at the box going into the 4th inning...and you can get real sloppy, like the tiggers did, and let the game get away from you. Or you can suck it up and come back like the pigs did for an 11 to 10 victory. Part of the pigs 3 game conference sweep over the tiggers at the box.

that pileup in br did look pretty intense. i was there and my first thought was they are going to hurt the person on the bottom.

I thought the same thing watching it on TV. This doesnt surprise me at all but Im still laughing, hard.
