Would sell 100k tickets at Minute Maid if it went 3 games. I don't see how the committee walks away from that kind of money, if presented properly. AD should have been politicking that the minute we went up 7-4 last night. Of course our athletic admins are stuffed suits and won't!

I think the NCAA track and field championships being at Texas from Thursday to Saturday night are going to play a significant impact on the decision to host at aTm.
Otherwise, the super would have been in Austin.

That's actually a good point. But Austin/Texas can handle both at once. Still, a good point.

I wonder when they had to submit host bids. One of us, in anticipation of this very situation could've submitted a bid to host a super regional at Minute Maid similar to what some mid-majors have done in the past with submitting bids to host at nearby minor league parks.

If us or tu did that, that would win the bid easily.

I know it's not even enough of a possibility to be a pipe dream, but I can still dream.

I think tu would host for two non-conspiracy reasons:

1. tu was co-champs of the B12. Yes the B12 sucks but we know this matters to committees way more than it should
2. Disch seats more. Yes it is a dump and fake turf is an abomination, but more seats means more revenue in the bid.

ETA two things:
3. No baseball in neutered MLB stadiums. No. No. No.
4. I'd be 100% ok with Bjork doing whatever necessary to increase our bid to outbid those bastages. But I'm also fairly certain that bids are due prior to even Regionals being announced so I don't think either of us were aware of the matchup ahead of time.

My understanding has always been that all host bids are submitted by the schools prior to regular season ending.

In 2017 we were not slated to host a Super Regional but submitted a bid for Super Regional host and when both us and Davidson upset the 1-seeds in the Regionals we got to host.

My understanding from staph and the BMAs that post here is new site and rebuild are both off the table. Begs the question: what is the best way to get the powers that be to reconsider the tear down and rebuild -- getting outbid by tu due to capacity or getting back to Omaha or ...? I want to win this year but more than that I want what's best long-term for Aggie Baseball rather than just kicking the can 10-15 years down the road again.

Would the very real possibility there are going to be numerous other SEC teams hosting Super Regionals play into the committees decision?

The committee thinking along the lines that the Big12 needs a Super host because the SEC has 4;or 5?
