It looks like that's Oregon and they lost 3 of 4 to them, including the conference tournament.

They have played 0 games against Q1 competition. ZERO. How many teams have they played that are in Regionals? What was the outcome?
HmmmmSean98 said:The Cali teams are geographically isolated so it really skews RPI. They don't have a short drive to midweek teams like the Big 12, SEC, ACC do. DBU, Sam, Troy, Campbell, Coastal... All in easy reach for folks in the East. In Cali you either play Irvine, Fullerton, etc (and have real risk of losses) or you don't. And even those teams have been pretty mediocre/bad in recent memory.Hungry Ojos said:Wrecking Crew 21 said:
Just have to remember the level of competition where they are located!
So is west coast baseball generally know to be weaker? Honestly asking as I know nothing about it.
It makes it very hard to compare stats, RPI, SOS, etc

Original Post said Cali Teams, Not just Stanford. There are more teams too, I did not name them all.LOYAL AG said:ColoradoMooseHerd said:HmmmmSean98 said:The Cali teams are geographically isolated so it really skews RPI. Several of those schools are in the Los Angeles area which is 350 miles or so from Palo Alto. That's like A&M playing in Norman, OK which is impractical for a midweek game. Some of them are so far that Stanford by rule would have to fly, ie UNLV.
Meanwhile we have all of the following within bus distance for a Tuesday game
tu
Baylor
Texas State
Sam Houston
Rice
Houston
UT Arlington
TCU
UTSA
HBU
PV
Much, much easier for us to schedule than the west coast schools. Not all of those are good teams but nobody plays good teams week in and week out. The west coast schools have a problem just filling out their schedule without worrying about travel costs.

But for Midweek Games, by your criteria they still should not have a problem filling midweek games with the following
St. Mary's
Santa Clara
U of San Francisco
U of Pacific
Cal Davis
Sac State
Fresno State
Cal St San Luis Obispo
Cal St. Bakersfield
And they often fill in other midweek games with team traveling to California for Spring Break or other times much like A&M does.
And they are allowed to play a team more than once.
And I believe it would be fair to say neither have happened. Nor has fielding been good. And yet somehow we're 2-0.Scotty Appleton said:
Stanford has made the CWS the past 2 years and Supers in '19. They don't suck.
The Ags need Hoover pitching or Jace & Werner to get hot again.

And find it hilariously ironic you would bump this thread. But to each their own.

Great find, you proved I wasn't confident in our starting pitching.
