Now that we have time... Lefties force you to hesitate more because they can see everything you're doing, can step off and quick throw, etc. So generally it's harder to get a good jump. So if you're a bad/marginal base runner you'll evaluate the count, the situation, think about what the pitcher is likely to throw and "guess." So you go first move assuming that your have evaluated things correctly and that he's (1) going home and (2) through something off speed or down.
If you're a good base runner and can both evaluate the move and have the speed to make it work then you may delay just another tic to ensure he's going home.
Oh, and depends on the catchers arm.
