Jimy Williams is a complete waste of a manager. He continually makes bad decisions, and it's costing the Astros. Albeit, they haven't scored many runs lately, but Jimy made another error leaving Redding in last night when he didn't have anything left and it cost the Astros the game. How much longer is Drayton going to put up with this crap? I always liked the way Dierker handled the pitchers. He may not have won in the playoffs, but at least he could get there, which is more than I can say for Jimy.

I think Jackie Moore deserves a chance. He was interviewed when Dierker was fired. Just look what he's done with the Express. He consistently gets the most out of his players 100% of the time.

The Marlins fired their coach midseason last year and look how that turned out.

The Astros have lost 20 of the last 32 games and are in a tailspin. 5th place in the Central is unacceptable, even if the season isn't half way over. Drayton needs to make a change and needs to do it now.

I wonder if the Astros players like Williams?

If Dierker's not the answer, then who? I don't know about Jackie. I think the Express have supreme talent and that's a reason for his success.

If Jimy goes, Jackie should at least be the first guy they interview.

I thought the Jimy hiring was a mistake. I think he makes some really stupid moves, but he's not responsible for these guys not being able to buy a hit the last couple of weeks.

The Express do have talent, but they lose that talent each year b/c all the studs go up to New Orleans or the bigs. Jackie consistently gets the most out of his teams, year in and year out.

Jackie's team sucked last year. They've been average to very good the other 4 seasons, though.

I for one absolutley loved Dierker and thought he got the shaft by the Stros. We should give him the job now.

I know that won't happen but I would like to see a new hire right now.

I loved Dierker too and hated to see him get the ax, but anyone who thinks he should come back needs to read his book "This Ain't Brain Surgery, How to win the pennant without losing your mind" first. You'll realize that it was probably a good thing that he left. He had lost the team. Bags and Biggio were against him among other things. Great book if you're an Astro fan.
