I'm too lazy to look at previous responses… so obviously this is a big game for both teams otherwise they would've called it. ?

I think this game means much more to us than it does Bama. They are sitting at # 14 in the RPI rankings. Win today they move up one and lose they move down one. For us we sit at # 35. Win we could move up to # 31, but lose and we fall to # 38.
Good on Bama for sticking around to play.

I think RPI is good tool and all but that's also leaving a lot to chance and the committee. They probably get in with 13 wins if any team does but 14 is nearly a slam dunk historically.
asking again. Where are you hearing or seeing this?Biggame12 said:
Bama coaches are whining that the field is not safe… They have to wait till 4pm to evaluate it but they are looking for a way to not have to play it.

While I agree that Bama has a lot less incentive to play, I'm not sure they get in at 13-16, even with mid-20s RPI. There have been SEC teams left out with similar resumes. But, get to 14-15 (which ought to be easy with Ole Miss having nothing to play for), and they should be a lock. Whereas, at 14-15, we would still be sweating it out come selection day.threeanout said:RED AG 98 said:threeanout said:ftworthag02 said:

Bama would be in easily at 13-16 if this game isn't played and they lose two of three to Ole Miss. That would still leave their RPI in the mid 20's. This game has hosting implications for them.
On the other hand we HAVE to get to 14 conference wins to make the tourney.
I'm not sure about that. If Bama is flying commercial, they are probably doing so tomorrow. If a charter, then they would have some scope to delay (wouldn't have been flying out before 7 p.m. anyway if the game was played as originally scheduled). If they are busing, then they almost certainly were planning to wait until tomorrow.RED AG 98 said:
I agree. They could have been on the bus to the airport as soon as we sent out the PR this morning.
Absent a biblical flood, that field is playable (as in, no standing water anywhere) within 2 hours of whenever the rain stops.mullokmotx said:
It was raining at the end of yesterday's game. Maybe the dirt part of the infield got too wet and hasn't dried out. The announcers were saying yesterday how well the field drains.
