.. the game on monday
I need to Rant so bare with me
I've always thought Houston baseball fans have sucked, they treat games like a social event. I grew up in Humble, went to a lot of Astros games while I was in High School. I went to about 15 last season. I was reading the paper this morning in Baton Rouge and saw it was going to be Prior vs. Clemens, so I called and eneded up getting tickets.
Back to the fans sucking.... I was sitting field level halfway between third and the foul pole about 30 rows up, for the fist 5 innings i saw maybe 5 or 6 pitches where there wasn't someone standing in the aisle blocking part of the view from the mound to the plate, it sucked. I could have known more of what was going on listening to Milo. I saw none of Clemens' strike-out pitches, and hardly any of Prior's for that matter.
And it wasn't just fans, during the first pitch an usher came and escorted people to their seats about three rows down, walked right down the row during the pitch with about four clueless people dragging behind him.
At one point during the game, there were two beer vendors and a foam finger/pennant seller all in the aisle at the same time.
Put that together with the family of cubs fans sitting next to me with two daughters and a mom that screamed "let's go cubbies lets go," litterally twice every batter, no matter which team was at the plate, the fact that teams I wanted to win this weekend had 25 consecutive innings where they scored a total of 3 runs, and the fact that lifetime the astros are like 4-30 when I go watch them and I have to place part of the balme of Clemens' first lost on myself for that reason, tonight at Minute Maid sucked.
If you're still reading, thanks
