By not stepping off before reacting to the runner.

They were looking for a balk or a run down. Typical high school 1st and 3rd play.

We were specifically talking about position players. Outside of like Jacob House and Tyler Naquin our fielders were SMALL that year. Who am I missing?

That pitching staff was monstrous.

Yeah, but at the start of the season, weren't the expectations not great for them? Or we started out really bad prior to conference play?

Nah, we were expecting to do well.

Hales flamed out early sadly but Stripling moved from closer to 3rd starter and our rotation was downright dirty.

Yeah I know what a balk is.

The guys calling the game made it sound like had Schloss not visited the mound it was a far gone conclusion that the pitcher would balk.

I mean maybe.

But maybe he just lets the runner go and focuses on the plate.
