I have to disagree about OU Alumni loving baseball. In my 10 years of living in Oklahoma, I never met an alumni or fan of OU who even cared about baseball or even knew that they won a CWS. The only 2 sports they ever mentioned was football and Spring football.

I realize that you're baseball board royalty, but that's an extremely weak take. The team **** the bed today. Nothing wrong with calling it how it is. I'll be rooting for them come Sunday with everyone else. There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying the team exceeded expectations this year, but then laid an egg today. Pretty much another Aggie team wilting on the biggest stage. Here's hoping they turn it around for the next game.
I'm sure my memory is failing me, but other than Manziel's '12 team, I can't remember one of our teams (big three sports) that flourished under the brightest of lights in the last 30 years.

This team and this coaching staff had nothing to do with any of that. At the beginning of the season 2/3 of those kids have never even met each other. Not a single honest person on this thread can say that they expected that we were gonna get to the college World Series this year. These kids scrapped it out bonded played their asses off and got to Omaha. We're one of the eight best teams in the country this year. We have one bad inning at the beginning of our first game and a bunch of y'all… look, let's just go win a baseball game on Sunday.

The team did **** the bed today. Then cleaned it up but had to live with the stain. No one has a problem with that. But your PTSD over teams in multiple sports throughout decades has nothing to do with this team. I don't care if you call it like it is. They played poorly today. It's your (and many others) BAS that has nothing to do with today that results in people feeling like everyone is pissing on everyone's leg.

I think people have the right to be frustrated if they want to. As a program we've won 1 game in 40 years at the CWS. That's pretty damn sad for a college program that holds itself as one of the best in the state/nation.
It's also fine to be cheerful for Sunday, but to poo-poo people for airing out their frustrations is an odd stand as well
Being frustrated is way different than saying we suck, shouldn't be there, knew it would happen, etc. I was talking to those people. Because it's clear some of them have not been watching most of the season. HTH.

I went to the KSU series in 2005 and drove around the Manhattan area quite a bit. I though the Flint Hills were beautiful. Also had pretty good Cajun food in the Little Apple.
We haven't lost 2 straight since April 2 and 3rd, BTHO TU/ND!
Today was one game, seems like a lot of people complaining don't watch baseball. Nothing is guaranteed, and anything can happen during 1 game. If we played again tomorrow it would be a totally different game.

I ran across some snoopy cartoons last year on one of the streaming services and it did an "origin story" about how snoopy met Woodstock and it was the cutest thing. Clever.

The "it was one game, it's baseball, anything can happen" got really old and annoying under Childress. Baseball is full of lame and cheesy sayings and excuses for poor play.

This is the assumption that I can't stand on Texags. I would disagree and say that many of us that are frustrated have followed this team from Day 1. For some reason, because we are frustrated and expected more out of this team today, we are just people who all of a sudden started following Aggie baseball.
I'm pissed that we didn't win this game today. Despite our obvious deficiencies like quality starting pitching and infield defense, I expected this team to win. This mentality that we should just be happy to be in Omaha because this team is made up of a group of "Island of Misfit Toys" and that we have glaring deficiencies is why we haven't won in Omaha since we beat Kansas in 1993.
Having said all of that, I have complete faith in Schloss and his staff to reverse the curse. He's not happy just to be there and has said as much in interviews. He wants to win and win big.
That may be so, but here's an example. You may ahve watched this team from Day 1. But you didn't even start posting on game threads or baseball board until conference play this season (and I don't think you posted in previous seasons).
So when you have a group of people who have faithfully shown up on the game threads literally for years without really missing games, and then see people who have never posted here except when things are good or in the post season, and only come to *****, it is a decent assumption that they are either new to baseball or at the very least new to game threads and the way things have happened/annoyed people/fallen out over the years.
That's even different than the people who are calling out specific players saying they suck, need to move on, go away, and don't belong. That's the big one that crosses the line for me. These are young men who are playing a game for our entertainment.

I agree, but I haven't seen any big NIL baseball deals. And remember, 99% of baseball players don't have a full ride.
