What I've learned from what this thread has devolved into is that the RPI formula is flawed because the Ags aren't high enough in its calculations. Our success is the measure of the quality of an index.
The fact that our RPI would take a negative hit by WINNING a game says plenty about the quality of the index. There's nothing maroon tinted about that.
If you want to weigh winning and losing games more than they are now, fine.
But we also just spent a page hearing about how DBU shouldn't be ranked so high because even though they've won a lot of games, they didn't beat enough good teams.
You want a formula won't harm you for playing a bad team? Be prepared for a lot more non-power conference teams with high RPIs.
Folks here will hate that every bit as much as the football board hates every time a non-power team with a good record gets attention.
