Why would Bianco be a candidate, other than nepotism? His record is less impressive than the one that just got Childress fired.

His lack of trips to Omaha relative to his time at the helm likely excludes him from consideration at LSU. However, I think their fan base is split on him. The other half see the success he's had at Ole Miss and wonder what he might be able to do at a place like LSU. Ole Miss baseball history is basically Bianco.
He's one of them.
I would love it if they hired him.

I hope LSU does hire him. It would only add to my hatred of all things LSU - Marineri (sp.) made it tough to hate LSU - and it would allow me to pull for Ole Miss in non-A&M situations. For me, Bianco to LSU is a match made in heaven on all fronts.

Ole Miss At Home Again

I'll admit, I strongly dislike Bianco. That being said, if given the chance he possibly could do quite well but his rather long track record at Ole Miss indicates he is a notch or two below what LSU is looking for in a head baseball coach.

Lots of money is why he would take the A&M or LSU job
in percentage terms probably at least 40% More than what UTenn is willing to offer. If UTenn is willing to give I'm a raise to $ 800k

According to some program insiders I know through family, Bianco is not held in high regard. He was being previously considered for the job and allegedly questioned why would he trade the job at Ole Miss (where he only need to occasionally make it to Omaha) for the high/unrealistic expectations of the LSU job. As you can imagine, that type of comment did not set well with some.
Do any of you think that he would be a legit candidate for our job given the past affiliation with Bork? I'm not presenting this as, he's a fantastic coach and we should look at him, but rather, legitimately in the mix due to past working relationships and being a known commodity.

To get Bianco Probably would have to give him a raise and hiring Bianco and making him one of the highest paid coaches in America would be an unpopular decision
Would A&M consider hiring Bianco? If no, then why would LSU consider it?

I think Ole Miss is poised to make a nice run the next few weeks.
Bianco has better facilities at Ole Miss and they recruit really well. It would take a big payday for him to leave.

Three things here (and they can all be true at the same time):
1) Ole Miss is a plum job, great fans and attendance, stellar facilities, SEC West, etc.
2) LSU is a premium job that comes with great exposure and demand for great success, but also comes with a TON of drama that, believe it or not, some coaches want no part of (think tu football)
3) Phoebe Cates >>>>> those two jobs + the A&M job.

I believe Woodward is considering Bianco. Peehaps O'Sullivan's off-field issues are too much for them to stomach given their own issues.
We should know within 36-48 hours. If LSU doesn't announce O'Sullivan within that timeframe, then it's going to be someone else. If off the field stuff is the deciding factor, I wouldn't be shocked if they went with Bianco, but I think that would be purely a political move. If they have to have LSU connections, Godwin would be a better choice.austinag1997 said:

Been told he is. Some boosters like hometown boy leading the team. Kinda like bringing Mulkey back but O'Sullivan still reportedly leader in the clubhouse.Buford T. Justice said:
