State finishes the season at home vs. Carolina. The Gamecocks will just be playing out the string by then

big win for Baylor (25-10) in extras. Maybe the Bears are going to be the Big 12's regional host.

Tech at 6-7 in the league isn't going to host anything with a .500 conference mark

The save was funny - Cronin looks pretty mediocre to end the 8th; gives up a dinger to start the 9th and apparently got pissed off - K-K-weak P6.

They really only need to go like 9-6 to make the top 32. I think they're headed west as a 2 seed. UCLA?

They've got a lot of work to do on the RPI front. If they win the league and get reasonably close to the top 16, the committee might give them the benefit of the doubt.

Would have loved for Elliott to pitch a no hitter but what the video doesn't show was the catcher(runner) was 2/3s the way down the line by the time the shortstop got to the ball. It would've taken an other than "ordinary" throw to make it a bang bang play with no guarantee of him being out. Painfully, it was the correct call.

It's actually not if you know how scoring works. Fielding it cleanly is only part of the play, the other parts have to be a given in an ordinary way that an average player could make. In this case, they simply were not. An out wasn't a guarantee even in a case of all things happening without fault. He miss handled it in an effort knowing rushing it was the only way he could even have a chance at an out.

And fyi, I was there.

Totally different type of player.

Mangum is a guy you look at and think he isn't good enough to be there. He just fights and fouls off pitches until you have to gut him one, or he takes the walk. He's scrappy and the perfect leadoff hitter for college baseball. He's a pest in a good way(for Miss St anyways.)
