This was such a simple, much needed RPI thread. It has now been taken hostage by the "we should still be in the Big XII" types.

Can we go back to top of Page 2 or relabel this gripe fest and start a new "RPI needs" thread?

Meh. I finally slogged through it so my "new posts" alert will skip me past it.

Agree. And it is a lot my fault because I can not stand people who know nothing of how this works criticize our coaches and AD.

Edited to add that if I knew as much as some of the posters think they know I would become an AD. Or coach. Obvious waste of "talent". Reminds me of some of my patients who think they are docs.

Rant over.

One thing we can certainly agree on is that no one suggested we should still be in the Big 12.

So watching Warren Nolan this week, we fell from 11 to 15 beating PV. Then 15 to 14 because of somebody else on Wednesday, to 16 after Friday; 18 last night and back to 14 right now (other games in progress).

Four wins and I THINK we host. Five I think is comfortable.

If I'm reading Warren Nolan's website right, LSU has a chance to vault to RPI #50 if they can hang on to beat Arkansas.

That would vault the Aggies' record against the Top 50 to 10-10; 6-2 against teams with an RPI between 12 and 50.

5/6 PM Update:
After a 2-2 week that included a win over one of the worst teams in the country and a 1-2 split against the best, the Ags saw their RPI drop four spots. A&M is still in hosting range, but it'll take quite the finish against Arky and USCe. LSU jumped into the top 50 to give us another top 50 series win. UTA free-fell this week to give us our first truly "bad" loss this year from an RPI perspective

***All +/- numbers reflect RPI change from this past week's results***

Sam Houston State has 6 games remaining against Houston Baptist (H-133) and Incarnate Ward (A-196) so it's doubtful they will get back into the top 50.

*** Added: They dropped 5 spots to 58 after Tuesday's loss to Rice. ***

They've so been up and down over the past month. Three straight losses at home now to SE Louisiana and Rice.

Outscored 17-7 in the three games. Shut out 0-6 on Sunday vs. SE Louisiana.

They need to sweep Houston Baptist in the worst way.
