We came out flat and it never let up. I am just glad it isn't during the post season. Hopefully the guys can light a fire under their butts for ole miss, and we can get back on track. All in all, (minus the shut out) I am fine with it happening now. I hope everyone was right about the game not being all that important in the grand scheme of things.

Sorry they had to lose this one.

Now that that is out of our system, let's BTHO Ole Miss. Full confidence that this team will show up on Thursday ready to play.

Lance-That's a tremendous post and addresses almost everything relevant.

I do think, however, that a ton hinges on Barash's health. We are a totally different team without him. I honestly don't think we will win a regional without him.

If we were going to pitch guys who haven't pitched in weeks as a "tryout" last night, we should have gotten Hendrix out there again for 20-30-40 pitches or whatever. If he stink again, no real difference between losing 5-0 or 10-0.

Overall though, I'm not worried about guys like Boomer or Melton. Moss is a different story.

Some folks on here really need to realize that baseball is not like football. One loss doesnt make or break anyone. Sam Houston, while not a great team, is not terrible. They knew they had something to prove tonight, and they threw their best punches. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for us, they got one of our worst offensive efforts in recent years. We got their best, and we got their worst. Mid week games are tricky when you ranked inside the top five. Those smaller opponents have a target on your back, and if you slip up, they will get you. But thats the way baseball go.
I expect a huge offensive output this weekend, maybe that beat down woke the bats up!

That game last night had one of the weirdest vibes I've ever experienced out at Olsen. It's the type of game that you immediately put behind you, as I'm sure the team was able to do at some point last night.

I hate to say it, but shsu came to play, and it just so happened to come at a pretty bad time for us.

The fans in orange were loud all night, and even worse, it was this high pitched, shrill, screaming type of cheering. It was truly a terrible thing to have to experience.

The great thing about all of it is that it's over. That's baseball in the purest sense. We have a set this weekend that truly does matter, and we will get to see the team that we usually see again, and it's going to be great!

I also get this feeling that Nick Banks is going to get a hit in each of the next 6 or so games we play against SEC competition, and will do his part in the playoffs. I don't expect him to perform at a .400 clip for the rest of the season, as a lot of us were probably unrealistically expecting at the beginning of the season, but at the same time I'm not really worried about him either. Especially if we can continue to get good ABs from guys like Choruby and Homan.

Those barecat fans though... horrid. I guess it puts into perspective how lucky we are with the great crowds we usually have out at Olsen.

Texags knows how to deal with a slump, if staff could show a little flexibility.

Are you sure the bearkats had nothing to lose? I'm pretty sure this was a huge game for them.

The worst that could happen is that they lose to a top 5 team, which was expected, and still get a boost in RPI. Losing last night would not have negatively affected SHSU in any way, meaning they really had nothing to lose.

Yes, winning was huge for them, but losing wouldn't have been bad.

Let's remember that Sam is a legit. Getting shut out at home by anyone is a whole different story.... I've been worried about our O for a few games now. That said, we know how well we can be offensively. Bottom line for me is that I just want to peak at the right time. Sometimes I wish there was no conference tourney....
