why are those concrete "lines" in the GA section? seems counterproductive to me...

It used to just be a big slope where kids would slide cardboard boxes down.

The concrete bricks are slope off points and create more (and more comfortable) "seating".

Does anyone know if they allow people to leave and come back in?

For example, if we bring chairs and can't use them can you take them back out?

They're not. This isn't a viable spot to watch a game. It's a family zone for people to picnic and kids to run around. I'm not sure why they sold this many tickets there. And it's the reason most TCU fans don't understand why A&M fans are rallying around the TCU15 thing. You guys are bragging about buying tickets that most people at TCU don't want.

Normally, GA tickets allow you to sit in the upper corners of the stadium, so it's fine if you don't mind sitting in the sun. For the postseason, those are sold as reserved seats, leaving basically just the grass hill. Which again, is where the kids run around and throw things and act like kids.

It's a terrible spot to watch a game.

So this is a nice, newer stadium, and the GA seats don't face the pitchers mound or field?

When I called tcu ticket office Monday they said that the outfield area(vines) would be closed.

There were too many people & kids sliding down the hill. I witnessed one kid that was sliding down the hill get hit by a line drive and have to be carted off. Terrible.

Im not a Aggie fan, so don't want to tell you what to do at the risk of sounding like I'm a TCU fan trying to steer everyone away. But I wouldn't watch a game from there. I said in the other Lupton thread, it's going to be like the student section at a football game. If that's the environment you enjoy, you'll have a blast. If you're used to having good comfortable seats where you can see everything and come and go as you please, it's going to be difficult to enjoy sitting in the grass.

Here is how I describe that area...

It'll feel like you're watching the game from outside the fence, like you're not even in the stadium. That area wasn't designed for this. It's a picnic area.

So if the tickets everyone was pumped about as Aggies / pissed they didn't get as TCU students are just in the grass, when did the actual seats go onsale?

He is right. Just know it going in. Used pretty much as a family area for kids to run around but won't be good when sold out and no space.
Have you been to a game there when the GA section was packed?

They were sold to season ticket holders (and the small section that A&M foundation gets). They were never available to the public

I went to school in CA. I go to a lot of games at Lupton since moving to Fort Worth a few years ago. I have season tickets because it's good baseball and I love baseball. So I'm a TCU fan, but without the emotional bias of an alum or student.

I don't hate Aggie fans, I really don't know anything about A&M or have any reason to screw you. Just trying to give you an idea what to expect going in so you don't get there and get all angry that you got tickets to a park next to a baseball stadium.

I had 24 tickets to the games this weekend and given 4 each day to a family of Aggie alums I know, and two each day to neighbors that went to A&M.

I've had 2 TCU fans tell me the same thing about the GA section. They didn't understand why were so excited about getting tickets there.

Reserved seats were sold to season ticket holders. There was no promo code, just able to buy them with our login ids. And we could request extra tickets (both reserved and GA) as well.

Buttercup's map makes it seem like they have concessions in the vines, but they weren't setup there yesterday. If they plan on putting out a cart in there, maybe they'll open the area to spectators.

I have a feeling GA will be standing room only.

I swung by the stadium on my way home from work yesterday to get a better idea of the layout. This is the GA section.

The view from the reserved patio's just past GA. Here you can also see the left field line is taken up by the bullpen and training complex. It looks like the best views are closer to the patio and up high.

Here's a view of the vines folks are talking about in the outfield. I am not sure if it will be open come game time, but there doesn't seem to be much room elsewhere.

Nice, thanks. Hard to tell from the pic, but if you are sitting in the vines up against the bushes, are you high enough to see over the outfield wall or is standing a must?

I think a good demarcation would be to sit along that shadow line. From there to the bushes you should be able to see over the fence.

anyone know what the view is like in that GA spot on the left field line? Do you have to stand to see?

Here is the area. It would be awesome if they opened the left field side.

How easy would it have been to put up some temp bleachers down the LF line? Its flat. I remember A&M did vs tu during Wacha's freshman year. I guess they didn't expect the demand from A&M.
swimmerbabe11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Last year they put temp bleachers at the top of the berm (right field)

The lawn you are seeing down left field iis actually a part of the new training facilities behind it. I haven't been there since they added them, but I am pretty sure that they are closed off from the rest of the stadium. Since the players stretch and warm up out there before the games, I can't imagine them letting crowds overflow into it.

Well they sent out an email (see above) to super regional ticket holders than it is a GA area and will have concessions of some type.
