The problem is we still have a couple Tuesday games and a Nebraska series against poor RPI teams. Even wins will drop us slightly.
I'm not sure if the entire tournament is taken into account for regional hosting, I don't know the tourney schedule vs when they are selecting this year.

the renovations wont effect hosting.
it may be inconvient but the field, seats, locker rooms, dugouts will still all be in tact for regional and super.
Baylor hosted a regional back in 1999 when their stadium was at about 50% due to construction

Losing to a decent team on the road vs. losing to a horrible team on the road is a huge difference.

Sweeping a decent team at home vs. sweeping a horrible team at home is not as big of a difference.
