Welcome to West Texas!

My dad used to work in Coyonosa--about 22 miles from Imperial and about 14 miles from Grandfalls. Grandfalls is about 20 miles south of Monahans. The local school district is Grandfalls/Royalty I.S.D with about 100 students, and Buena Vista I.S.D. located in Imperial, which has about 125 students. Now that I think about it, my cousin was the pastor of First Baptist, Imperial for a while.

FM 10: From U. S. Highway 79 in Carthage southwestward to Farm to Market Road No. 999 at Gary, a distance of approximately 10.2 miles.

Apparently, this is the new way to mark FM roads at large intersections. Which I am all in favor of, because we need more shapes of Texas on our road signs!



FM 9: From US 79 at Panola, northward to US 80 at Waskom; and from another point on US 80 at Waskom, northward via Lotta Community to Caddo Lake, a total distance of approx. 25.2 miles.

It's currently 40 degrees with drizzle. I drove by Olsen about half an hour ago, and the lights were on. I can't imagine that they are practicing, but it was awesome to see the lights on.

SH 6: From the Texas/Oklahoma State Line via Quanah, Crowell, Benjamin, Rule, Stamford and Albany to Cisco; thence concurrent with US 80 to Eastland; thence via Gorman, DeLeon, Dublin, Hico, Meridian, Clifton, Marlin to Hearne; thence concurrent with US 190 to Bryan; thence via Navasota, Hempstead, Waller, Sugar Land, and Alvin to IH 45 near the north end of Galveston Causeway; and then from another point at the junction of SH 6 and US 90A southeastward to McKeever Rd and SH 6, a total approximate distance of 560.0 miles.
