The class of '08 was the last class to see him coach here as freshman. Very likely that not many students knew much about him or had any connection to him.

finals?....... its crazy that students have to take those... but they do occasionally interfere with baseball.... and some will choose studying for finals over baseball...

crazy...i know

Agree with falcon. Large student base isn't going to turn up for a coach they don't know. Coupled with the fact it's a Tuesday night anyway, not going to get a huge crowd.

Again, IMO, the students haven't been the problem with attendance. Sure, it hasn't been overflowing, but forcing students into the RFB isn't the best way to encourage attendance. If people have to sit there one game when they get there 5 minutes late, there's a good chance they won't come back if they know they can't be 20 minutes early. If they opened up some of the reserved seats to students, then the students (who will make up most of the crowd for midweek games, since it's hard for out of towners to drive in), will be more likely to come. It's gotta be a change at the beginning of the season though, so people don't get discouraged.

And again, ticket prices are too high (keeps blinn students, locals from coming), and a lot of people who don't read texags religiously and aren't 5th years don't know who MJ is.

moving the students to the RFB is a ridiculously bad idea

I really don't have an answer for the attendence issues other than lowering prices which might bring back some older persons and families, but it is sortof rediculus to push students into the bleachers while the last section and a half of the upper deck thrid base side reserved is absolutely empty.

Well if they would show up to the game on time they wouldn't have that problem. But when a group of 10+ people comes in after the game has started and stands in the front of a section trying to find an empty space for their giant group, blocking the view of several rows, then yea they would be better off heading to right field.

I'm sorry, but RF bleachers for students have been the case ever since they were built. It might be a smart move to change that in the future, but it's not a reason to explain why student attendance has fallen off at or near the same pace as non-student attendance (the reasons for which we've discussed ad nauseum).

The student section (2nd deck) was full Tuesday. There were a fair number of people in the right field bleachers as well. There was virtually no one in 219 or 220 though, and the entire 3rd base side of the 2nd deck was "sparse."

220 has been completely empty for almost every game this season. I am wondering if they didn't sell any tickets in it so that they could use it for things like the '59, '89, and '99 team reunions.
