Actually, there was a Disch Field in Austin, it's just that it was the minor league ballpark. If you're a lawyer, you can find a picture of it on Westlaw because there was a case involving a patron hit by a foul ball, and they inserted a picture (IIRC) of the screen into the opinion.
Clark Field had a cliff in the outfield that was in play--except for one time when the NCAA hosted a district tournament there (different playoff format back then) when they made everything hit on the cliff a ground rule double. It's the same reason the Horns keep the rug--they will take any homefield advantage they can get.
