Dreamland BBQ. That's about all I've got.

If you are at all a college football fan in general, you have to go by the Bear Bryant Museum before the game. It is pretty cool. The strip in Tuscaloosa is pretty typical for a bar scene in a college town, but I guess you need to stop by the Houndstooth if you go just to say you went.

As far as food goes, I guess you need to eat at Dreamlands once just to say that you did even if it is a bit overhyped. But if you do, eat at the original one in Tuscaloosa, and not at the one in Birmingham or Northport. Archibalds is probably the best bbq joint in Tuscaloosa. City Cafe & Mugshots are good for lunch. Waysider and Ramma Jamma's are really good for breakfast. Chuck's Fish, Cypress Inn, Jim & Nick's, Five, Nick's in the Sticks are all pretty good for Supper.

Bizarre Foods just had an episode in Birmingham. Perhaps you could check that out for inspiration.
