Game Wrap up & Preview

Last week, our then-#7 Ranked Fightin' Texas Aggies dropped a close one, in a defensive struggle, to the #24 ranked Auburn Tigers, 45-41. The Tigers came into Kyle Field having never outscored the Aggies, only to run roughshod over our defense for 615 total yards, 379 yards on the ground. Our Aggies were held to a mere 602 yards of total offense, and only 469 through the air.

This week our now-#14 Ranked Fightin' Texas Aggies welcome the unranked Commodores of Vanderbilt University to Kyle Field. Vanderbilt comes to Kyle Field with a record or 4-3 overall, and a 1-3 record in the SEC. Our Aggies hold a 5-2 record overall, and a 2-2 record in the SEC. This is the first ever meeting of these two programs.

Last week, Vandy scored 17 4th quarter points, while holding the then-#15 Georgia Bulldogs scoreless in that Quarter to pull out the 31-27 victory over a depleted Bulldog team. The Fighting Franklins held the pre-season All-SEC Quarterback, Aaron Murray, to 114 yards passing and the Bulldog rushing attack to 107 yards total. Vanderbilt racked up 119 yards rushing and 218 yards passing against Georgia. I don't think we can really take anything away from this game, due to the number of Bulldog players who are out, other than that the Commodores took advantage of Georgia's misfortune and were able to pull off the victory.

Vanderbilt averages 148 yards rushing and 264 yards passing, for an average of 412 total yards. What does this mean, in relation to this week's game? Not a lot.
