Hi all,
I know the LSU game is still a bit away but I was wondering if anyone could give some good advice about places to stay, eat and see while in Baton Rouge? Thanks in advance for the suggestions!!

The Chimes is great, at the north gate entrance to LSU. It will be packed on game day, so get there early. There's also a wonderful place called The Pastime. It's literally under the Mississippi River Bridge, not far from campus. Google it. Mike Anderson's is a good seafood restaurant, not far from campus. Then there's Sammy's and George's, both on Highland Road, just down the road from the South campus gates.

Keep in mind, all of these places will be busy before, during and after the game. Another way to get food is to just walk around campus during the tailgating. Despite everything you hear, we LSU fans love to invite opposing team fans over to our tailgates to sample some amazing south Louisiana food. Hope you enjoy BR. Geaux Tigers!

You'll get a few people in your face walking around campus, but it's usually freshman punk types a la Baylor line. Other than that, walking around campus is a good experience.

Parrains is a great place and really near campus. Their weekend brunch menu is legit as well.

Spent a lot of time in BR over the years. Traffic is horrendous on game days. If you can get it Stay bridge on Nicholson is really close. Also I-10 and Lee area. Lots of midrange accomadations and lots of restaurants to chose from. Seigen Lane area not bad. If you want to splurge, stay at L'Auberge Hotel and Casino on River Road & Nicholson. About 8 miles from stadium. Also Gonzales has a bunch of rooms and about 20 miles from Tiger Stadium. Did not like downtown.
