Jorts & Zone416 take on the fans at SEC Media Days

Damon 'Jorts' Robertson and Hunter 'Zone416' Shurtleff spent last week in Hoover, Alabama in search for die hard fans of SEC Football. What they came away with was more than either anticipated ... solid gold.

Pretty funny stuff from Jorts & Zone! After a few weeks, they talked WatchOle into making this free. Here you go!

my comments before this came out....

Just when you think you have it all figured out, you go and experience something. And come to find out, you couldn't have been more ignorant.

I've been a college football fanatic my entire life. My team has always been Texas A&M. Live, breathe, talk and die by it. I can have a conversation with anyone who wants about the teams and coaches we've put on the field spanning my entire life. I can even tell you some things, at least the highlights, of what happened before I was born in 1974.

And compared to the fans of SEC teams, my fan grade is a solid D minus.

Zone416 and I, as you know, were taken along on this trip and tasked with finding funny and outrageous fans....cleft palates, toothless, redneck, mulletheaded ignoramuses who could hardly spell their names. We wanted to bring you the funny....to acclimate you to what you're going to see on gameday. Our goal was to mix it up with these rabid fans, senseless though they may be, and film it for your entertainment and learning value.

But we learned something important about our new conference brethren. They're smarter about this subject than we are. And it's not close.

Nothing in your life could prepare you for these type of fans except, well, experiencing them for yourself. Talk to them. Trust me. They can't wait to talk to you. They can't wait to shake your hand and welcome you to the show. They can't wait to call you family. They can't wait to hear your stories about Texas A&M University. And they can't wait to tell you theirs about their schools, their games, their fans.

You'll find that perhaps you're not nearly the fan you thought you were. You'll envy the kid with the Billy Ray Cyrus cut and the houndstooth hat. You'll wish you had half the football IQ of the 23 year old gal holding 4 children with another on the way while her husband clamors for recognition from Mark Richt or Nick Saban or Steve Spurrier. Don't pity them. Learn from them. Engage yourself in deep football conversation with an eighty year old lady with a drawl so thick, it makes me sound like a New York Jewish Deli Owner. Listen to how she decorates her house and how she doesn't allow any of her children to get married in the Fall or Winter, even when the team is away.

Not one of them declined an interview on camera. Not one. Some of them became camera shy but did their best. They wanted to talk to Texas A&M fans with all their heart. They wanted to welcome you in their words. Even if the same folks are yelling at you in Auburn, Oxford and Tuscaloosa, they want to tell you it's just the way they are on gameday. But at the end of the day, they have your back. They're family now.

Sure, Zone and I will provide some humor. We hope you enjoy our little video as much as we enjoyed making it. I hope that watching us go down the tunnel onto the field at Bryant Denny stadium can provide you with one ounce of what we both felt when our feet hit that grass. I hope that listening to these super fans gets you in something resembling the frame of mind of the fine folks who thought enough of you to send you a message.

Gabe, Liucci and that crew did an AMAZING job of bringing you the coverage from the rooms with people who had media credentials. It was Zone's and my pleasure to bring you the coverage of the people who have the credibility.

You guys are going to LOVE this conference.

Hey, enjoyed the video many thanks. Glad to see the good reception. Pretty funny, Bamer wasn't too happy with us when Fran left them for us. I think we've got a clear view of what the heart of SEC thinks of us. I kinda want to hear more from SC, MSU, Vandy, Georgia, and Kentucky. I know it probably won't be that close of a relationship with the East schools however.

JMH...we would have too, but they didn't send any interesting looking fans to media days

You didn't interview any Rebels! Isa would have talked to ya!

Seriously, glad y'all had such a great time. I have said for many years that A&M belonged in SEC. So glad they're now a member!
