The Mavs or Spurs weren't specifically mentioned, but the original poster IS a Mavs fan, and while some of the guys on his list are 'hated' by a lot of people around the league (and some for good reason), it is safe to assume that him being a Mavs fan has a lot to do with his hatred for those players.

unfortunately, i was an arizona bball fan, so i never got around to hating bibby as much as peja and chrus webber.

of course, part of the reason you start to hate a player is because you see the crap he does to your team in person. if this were an all time list, you'd see karl malone and john stockton at the top of the list, specifically for elbowing and flopping, respectively. however, if i really need to, i'll break down my main reasons for hating these guys.

1. Peja: The dude never ever closes his mouth. Or shaves. Plus, the eastern euro block of him, tureyglue, and Divak used to piss me off to no avail, and Peja was the leader of that little group. If i was going to hate players from the kings just because they burned the mavs, you might see bobby jackson or keon clark.

2. Bruce Bowen: The guy has made a career out of kicking people in the nuts. That's his whole schtick. Tough defense = ridiculous foul after foul. And I can appreciate a strong defensive player, especially since we've had such a drought of them in Dallas. Still, the guy has an incredulous look on his face when he gets called for a foul. He's dirty, and I don;t like that.

3. Kobe Bryant: This isn't about scoring 60+ points or any of that. I think he actually raped that girl. And then, he turns his back on a teammate and trys to throw him and his marriage under the bus. If that's not enough, he puts the owner to a test making him pick him, or the best center in the game and 5 time NBA champ coach. He's selfish with the ball, and he's the one of the most arrogant players in the NBA. Here's a quote from him about the NBA MVP. Kobe Bryant was standing in front of his locker after a recent game, patiently answering questions, when someone asked for whom he would vote as the NBA's Most Valuable Player.

Bryant smiled . . . but he didn't hesitate.

“I'd vote for myself,” he said. “Wouldn't you?”

4. Steven Jackson: Aside from the fact that he did masacre the mavs and he has a reverse face (his chin and mouth stick out farther than his nose), the guy jumped into the stands and beat on fans. At least Artest actually had a beer throw on him. Jackson just decided to start throwing punches at people on the outside of the scuffle. by the way, i admit that my mavs' fandom is the basis for some of these and those who have topped the list in the past. who would hate peja if not a mavs' fan? he doesn't seem like a bad guy. he just pisses me off. big time.

i imagine that if pressed (and honest), the majority of spurs fans on here would list Lakers, Jazz, and Mavs players amoung their most hated. of course, now, they'll probably go out of their way not to just to "make a point".

I think Manu has made an effort to cut down on the flopping, I doubt he likes having that kind of rep. Plus, he really does get hit hard a lot times and doesn't need to flop.

The guys I hate are the ones with no real skill other than playing "good team defense"... i.e. flopping in the lane.

I was responding to whoever claimed that the Spurs were 'obsessed' and jumping to conclusions b/c the words 'Mavs" or 'Spurs' were specifically mentioned in your post, when it was quite obvious (and later confirmed by you) that your liking of the Mavs had a LOT to do with the list.

My bad. He named the thread after a Spur and mentioned another one in the thread. Easy mistake to make...for anyone with even a scintilla of intelligence.

i'd hate manu on any team. except the mavs. it's amazing what a change of clothes with do for some people (i.e. Deion Sanders, Charles haley, Terrel Owens, etc)

of course, unless your name is doug Christie.
