What were the emt's thinking. they should know that you don't allow someone who has just fallen on there head/neck and has a neckbrace on to move around like she was. She could have worsened her injuries. Just be lucky she didn't.
Because if you are in fear of having a spinal injury, you dont freakin move. Thats why you are strapped down.
She looked like an idiot because she kept doing these stupid jerky actions with her arms as she was being treated for a possible spinal injury. She deserves to be ridiculed. If she wanted to make everyone feel better about her getting carted off, the thumbs up or wave seems to work fine for the hundreds of other people that have been carted off - and a lot easier on your spine.
I mean...is it just me...or was she doing that b/c she got knocked in the head. I mean...anyone thinking straight would not have done that. I'm thinking she was seriously hurt in the brain or something.
actual quote - "oh, and like the rest of you, to me the only purpose of cheerleaders is to look at, because I am a smart enough fan to know when to cheer and when not to."
So, you would be in favor of getting rid of the Yell Leaders?

So, all these posts just to rip on the actions of a young girl who may or may not have even been aware of what was going at the time? Who knows if she even remembers what happened, let alone what drove her to attempt to follow the cheer and make losers everywhere like yourselves think she's an idiot? Y'all are sick...really sick. Wow.
funky07 and all you other guys that think you need to stand up for the cheerleader might want to consider this. I heard from an inside source that the head cheerleader told her to take a spill ON PURPOSE. He thought their team looked a little tired, but didn't want them to use a timeout so she took a dive. All those cheers she was doing were actually signals to the refs to let them know that if her team got a few calls, she'd drop some cash their way after the game.
why she is getting so much hype is beyond me. If I feel on my head in front of god and everyone else, looked like a jacka$$ doing it. Then turned around and finished the "cheer" as I rode out on a stretcher, that makes you some sorta "star" or someone important enough for a segment on a big tv show?
That's why the great TV remote was invented. If you feel something on TV is stupid, goofy, or simply not worthy enough to earn media attention, why not change the channel? This is why you will never find MTV on at my house. Changing the channel seems a lot easier than getting on a message board and making fun of an 18 year old girl with a head injury.
Aren't we Aggies supposed to be classy? Never met a classy person who would get on a message board and talk about how an 18 year old girl deserves to be made fun of and ridiculed as much as possible over something so trivial.
But seriously, her doing the cheer was stupid. I'm not attacking her as a person. I'm sure she's great. So don't feel like you need to stand up for her. If I was in her position and then I saw video of me doing a cheer after that, I'd probably laugh at it and admit that it was pretty stupid. Finding humor in it does not mean any of us were hoping that she had a broken neck or anything like that.
Just maybe she was showing spontaneous excitement that she was able to move her arms and legs after the fall and not paralyzed. Staff, delete this thread.
That's all well and good, most of the posts I've read were pretty harsh especially suggesting she "deserves all the ridicule that comes her way". I thought it was kind of silly too, that's why I shrugged my shoulders and changed the channel. I'm just surprised that it got to so many people and seemed to almost offend some of yall...
analogy, if ****ed a few in my time and if they EVER pulled something like that where i could possibly be embarrassed by their actions, i'm out the door.
the fall was fine. but DO NOT make an a** of your family and friends by trying to show your a** on the gurney.
I won't call her stupid or ignorant, but I did find it a bit silly. The kid has spirit, and that's what cheereladers are supposed to be about, but there is a time and a place.
You don't see injured football players yelling 'gimmee the rock' when they are wheeling them off on the gurney, even if they are the toughest of competitors.
