A sports league generally has a lot of power in establishing eligibility rules. Age limits, drug testing, and conduct requirements are common and often upheld. I get that they can't 100% do what they want but...
If the courts decide to open the door for players who went to pro to come back to college, gotta draw a hard line of when that is okay and when not. Which it seems like the SEC is trying to do. Without a hard Yes/No definition of a line, then you might as well just say it is okay for LeBron James to play at Ohio State this season if he wanted to.
And please just draw the dang line so the eligibility lawsuits and TRO entertainment can begin to simmer down in future seasons.
