Yeah those two were the highlight for me

The box scores from the bahamas have +/- so I was looking at that a little bit. Shelley was impressive with like a +86 over the three games, which at first seemed like it led the team by a decent margin, but to my surprise it didn't. Lukas Walls was apparently on the floor for +88 in those games.

With such as large margin of victory it seems like it would be tough for any players to have a (-) minus in those games, but it may be possible?

Let's see, this is a hastily assembled list and to be clear this isn't a list of our worst players, just players I hated watching and found myself thinking "why aren't you better?" for whatever reason.

The top three are also in a class of their own. I had to look back through the rosters to find a couple more.

#1 - Savion Flagg
#2 - DJ Hogg
#3 - Manny Obaseki
#4 - TJ Starks (Starks was who some people acted like Wade Taylor was)
#5 - Naji Hibbert

There was a brief time, at least in my head, when Flagg was our best player. It was Buzz's first year and at the beginning of the season, Flagg was taking over games albeit against lesser opponents. I'm convinced Buzz ruined him.

Flagg was definitely our best player for a while, part of why he was so annoying to watch. But it was actually the opposite. He was mostly mediocre for most of that season and then turned it on late. By Torvik's O-rating three of his best four games were in the last three weeks of the season and the other one was our very first game of the year against Northwestern State. Hard to take anything at all away from the Covid season the next year but he was pretty good overall and really good sometimes.

He's my #1 because he was, I think by a lot, the most talented player we've had that didn't live up to his talent. Not all his fault, I think he was a rough system fit for Buzz, but he was also just really lazy on defense at times. He was the Jaxson Appel of basketball where he was always near the play but not really doing anything to affect it.

I forgot he came on again late. That opener against NW State was probably what I was remembering. I just remember thinking he was going to have a huge year after that game.

Hogg was also frustrating because he never lived up to his potential for us and the off the court stuff was maddening at the time.

You're right on that, Hogg probably should be #1 because of all of the suspensions. Absolutely ridiculous.I just don't remember him being as annoying because we had other good players on the team.

Cashius the Canadian ghost is no. 1 for me.

You can't be frustrating to watch if you never play.

Cashius would fit better into another good offseason category which is which players had the highest ratio of posts about them vs how much of an impact they had for us on the court.

I was wrong. There was a minus (-) in one of the games...but team won big. That's why I wonder how effective +/- is as a player measurement when the team wins or loses by a wide margin. I guess it can happen, when team wins by large margin, and all the other players are a plus (+).

It's like any stat, can be useful in context. Phillips just happened to be on the floor when they made that big run. Was that his fault? In this case probably not, but maybe? There's a website I didn't discover until almost the end of last season that I want to look at more this year but it has lineup stats beyond just single player on/off. Can't remember the name right now but it's run by a Maryland fan.

Don't ask me to provide statistical analysis to my answer seeing as I was in Jr High during his time at A&M so it may be illogical, but I had a high level of disdain for Marlon Pompey.
