The triple OT win against LSU

Were we still feeling the effects today? Idk. We looked slow and lethargic for the most part against a highly motivated and confident OU team.

It's possible the loss moves us to a ten (better), bumps OU up above tu (better) and moves OU to keep Moser (better).

It's also possible none of these things happen. We started slow and awful against lsu but they're worse than OU and we couldn't pull it off. We have to have more juice in the tourney.

Well, all I know is we'll be playing our 2nd game in 11 days when we make our NCAA tourney debut under Buckey- so conditioning will not be a factor.

I don't think so.

Now if they knock off pig today you can start that conversation

It's hard to beat another conference team three times in a year. I don't care who it is.

Yeah, sorry. Even such it might not make a difference for OU outside of winning the whole thing which of course they won't.

It sucks, but I found myself feeling indifferent last night. Definitely would be glad to stay away from the 9 seed.

OU was far more hungry last night and it showed. Our guys have likely heard too much we are already in (true or not). OU, on the other hand, is fighting for a shot.

What does it matter, this team has lost to every good team it's played and is a 2nd round team at best. I'm just impressed with a tourney invite at all considering what Bucky had to do to get it here.

I think it's as simple as us just not being good enough to not match intensity AND shoot poorly and we did both. Might have been able to survive one or the other, and matching desperate intensity was always going to be a long shot, but we definitely couldn't survive both.

7 losses in our last 11 games and 3 of the 4 wins were 3 or 4 point wins and a triple OT game.

Not exactly high flying into the post season but as a fan, I personally am OK with it. We very much over achieved relative to my pre-conference play predictions, made tourney for 4th straight year, had a solid first year with a new HC. We are in the tourney, Texas A&M is on everyone's bracket, we have something to sell in recruiting, and our coach does not at all seem over matched in his first year in a major conference and only 6 years removed from HS play. Bright future.

Edit: I should add that a team full of experienced mature players, and good shooters, always has a puncher's chance in the tourney. So knowing that keeps me excited for the tourney, despite recent play.

So natty or it doesn't matter? How does even getting a tourney invite matter with that outlook?

Not what I said. It's just clear that this team doesn't have the personnel to make a deep run in this tournament. So I don't see the fuss over getting a 9 or 10 seed when we're 3-6 against tourney caliber teams.

It felt different in years past when we'd have a solid team and get screwed in the seeding, knowing that it actually affected our chances at making a sweet 16 or elite 8.

The Ags are safely in
Of course we'd like to be on the 6/7 line BUT
The roster just is not that talented
Tip o' the hat for being safely in which is better than tu

Looking forward to Buckyball 2.0

The triple OT game against LSU was not the problem. It was, however, a good indication of the direction we were heading. A 3 OT game against the last place team in the conference with only 3 conference wins was not a good sign at the point of the season.

Why not both?

I think it wasn't a factor. We had 4 days rest and OU had to play the night before . We just didn't play well and OU did.

LSU had a rough year and they had injuries but they took a number of tourney teams to the wire. They weren't a bad team. I'm afraid we also aren't a really good team but we did really well with what we had and also considering first year in the system. The system works

We couldn't rebound to save our lives in that game. Even when the ball hit our guys right in the hands we butter-fingered it out of bounds. When you're not hitting your 3s you have to rebound.

It was just one of those nights where we got out-hustled and couldn't really get anything going. It happens, and hopefully we won't have another game like it the rest of the year!

We are who we are. It wasn't the effects going 3 OT in Baton Rogue, it's why it took us 3OT to begin with. And why LSU took us to the wire in Reed.

After Mbako went down, we have exactly one consistent rebounding & defending "big". And Agee plays bigger than he is. Federico and Vinson are just not good enough and have not developed in skill an iota this season.

Our collection of guards as a whole is substandard compared to the majority of teams who are seeded single digits in the NCAAT.

We don't have a single player than we can count on to create his own shot or a shot for someone else off the bounce.

Our young coach got this roster to buy in and play hard, but Bucky is clearly has not developed yet as a tactician who prepares his team to execute in the clutch.

The Ags punched above their weight to sneak into the NCAAT by the skin of their teeth with a 10 seed (most likely… maybe a 9). If we play another team that doesn't execute well and isn't too tall on Thu or Fri we might stick around until Sat or Sun. Barring facing a 15 or 16 seed in round of 32, there is zero chance of us winning next Sat or Sun. We don't have the roster and don't execute well enough.
