I don't know basketball that well but I am always of fan of plays coaches draw up over the course of a game that schematically dominate. Thought in the age of social media it would be interesting to see them in a thread. This was one drawn up against a zone defense that looks unstoppable!

The score would seem to indicate that anything Michigan ran against Penn State would work.

Kidding aside, this is a nifty play but it wouldn't work in most situations. Or at least it wouldn't work the way it does here, it would probably get your big an open look near the free throw line if that's something they're good at.

Michigan running zone sets against Penn State is a bit like when Sark was drawing up plays for Alabama, it's easy to look brilliant when all of your dudes are better than all of theirs.

Ha, I help with a youth team and we scored in similar fashion in a couple of games this past weekend (minus the dunk).

All fair points. What stuck out to me was just what you said. You could take jump shot at foul line. Pass to back door cut and if backside defender moves over it gives player to backside of the play either uncontested 3 or dribble drive opportunity with potential foul since backside defender would have to work back to the ball and likely not outside the line.

Yeah I mean this defensive set by Penn State is basically toast before it even starts because of their defensive positioning. Nevermind the fact that they're hopelessly outgunned anyway but you've got several people here doing a floaty dance and not really guarding anyone or anything.

But if you've got a big man who can distribute (let alone score) from the high post most any kind of zone is screwed anyway. If you get the ball there, especially uncontested, the whole thing breaks down.

Nobody is going to zone us anyway I imagine but Dominguez would be pretty good at that high post role.
