If I was coaching Solo, he would practice shooting nothing but 10-12ft fall-away jumpers. That is where he could be effective offensively in my opinion.

He doesn't need fall away jumpers, he just needs to be good at actual jumpers. Nobody is blocking Solo on regular jump shots, especially if he had a decent pump fake to go with it.

Southwestern is spot on with the first choice of a transfer "transitional" point guard for next year to replace Wade. Living in Albuquerque, I've been following him for a few years. I know he is a Junior this year - so I assume Dent has one more year of eligibility.

And, although we all realize your "stat goals" for the ideal TexAgs point guard were in jest, Dent actually exceeds or approaches your criteria - the only player in NCAA Men's Basketball to average greater than 20 points and 6 assists per game. He also shoots 41% from three-point range.

Not sure what Wade was getting in terms of NIL- but we should offer that and then some to get Dent for next year!

Agree. But he has shown decent ability, and has the size, to back people down as well. If he was dangerous to score doing that, it opens up a lot of other offensive opportunities.

I guess but if he just had a decent consistent regular jumper he'd be practically unguardable anyway. A fall away would be a nice thing to add to the bag in the future but he has more basic fundamental needs first.

Donovan Dent's teammate, defensive specialist who also snagged 4 rebounds per game and has 2 more years eligibility. Likely more "affordable" from a NIL perspective than Dent.

My hope is that we find a "true" point guard that is "disciplined" and knows how to run the offense and not just jack up the ball at his whims notice. Kind of tired of that scenario and glad that it is gone, especially since that player disappeared after his come back from injury.

He needs to shoot a minimum 500 3's a day and work with a legit shooting coach. 38% will make him a lot of money
