I can't really think of a single "would you trade this for a trip to the final four" question that an A&M fan should say no to.

I don't think the timing works out and it would be better after a few more years. But if trying to get a big money, big name hire isn't going to work, Brian Barone just made the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
That's someone I'd think about looking at after whatever his *next* job after SIUE is, though.

Buzz isn't going anywhere...
...but if he does leave (maybe he retires to become a motivational speaker), then Rick Pitino, Jr. from New Mexico is the right hire - bringing his All-American point guard, Donovan Dent, who will be a senior next year, with him to replace Wade Taylor.
This is a long-term look, keep an eye on him over the next 5-10 years. Think a hire or two ahead lol.

This seems like an awful idea. We are currently in the process in baseball of proving that the SEC is not a sports league you can take a hopeful person you like.

Aside from all this bs speculation being thrown around, Buzz has been fantastic for this program. IF he leaves, turn the lights out on Reed Arena and fire Trev Albert's . He would have lost his top 2 coaches in less than a year.

Ross Hodge and Scott Cross are a couple of Texas guys that would make sense to me if A&M can't convince a big name if it does open.

What players? It would be hard to super upset about Buzz leaving because there is no Gillispie 2008 or Turgeon 2012 roster ready to come back and definitely no 2025 Aggie Baseball type team.

If we're just wishcasting coaches for a decade from now let's hope Joseph Jones and AK turn into great head coaches.
Joe showed quite a bit of promise in his stint as the Tarleton interim last season.
Still think Buzz will be our Coach next year!

While I know you are joking, but if Buzz leaves all the players are going with him. Solo, Payne, Mills, etc would go. New coach with come in with 15 spots to fill.
You have to go get Will Wade. He is a winning machine everywhere he goes.
I think losing Schloss was kind of unavoidable but losing Buzz would look pretty bad. Idk if it's fire Trev bad but it is bad.
