I'm for it. It's well deserved and kind of cool right after beating the #1 team in the country.
I don't mind retiring it. He'll finish as our program's all-time leading scorer. By A&M basketball standards, that's as good as it gets. But I do wish they would have done it at a big game next season where a bigger deal could have been made of it.

He's a two time first team all conference player. Will be our all time leading scorer. One of the winningest players ever at this school. He deserved it. He brought back Aggie hoops

Wade's teams have won the most overall in program history. It's a contribution award as we move out of COVID and IV improved the team markedly. Wade's overcome some injuries this year. I have no problem with it. Caruso and Acie should have jerseys retired...but w/e.

I also think it's worth noting that Wade stayed here for four years and won a Buck Weirus award in an era where I'm positive he could have gotten paid a lot more to play somewhere else.

Awesome moment, totally deserved. Has been SEC POY and an All-American. Better to do it now when he's there (in his jersey) after a huge win with his family and all the fans vs some random game next year.

He's going to be the all time leader in scoring and other stats. Plus go to three NCAAs, now he's maddening as hell to watch, but he's earned it. Especially in these times where kids don't stick around for 4 years.

Acie got to be the guy that brought us out of the darkness. Wade is on the back end of the best quarter century in Aggie basketball history.

We aren't even doing the same thing as we were back when that "standard" was created. The numbers aren't even retired. One of our players wore #1 tonight

He means in NIL and I'm certain he could have gone to any of the top 5 major programs in college basketball history this year or last and made a lot more money.
I believe he meant Wade would have made more NIL money at another school. I doubt there's any debate of that.
