Probably the wrong thread to discuss but what would it take to get a 2 seed? I have to think 7-2 down the stretch with 2 out of three wins vs Tennessee, Florida , and Auburn would get us there.

There's another thread about the 2 seed resume but I think the short version is we need to get 3-5 of the Missouri/State/Florida/Auburn/Tennessee games and sweep all the rest to get there barring some collapses from other teams.

The key though is they're not going to completely shift the conversation about a team based on the conference tournament. That was our problem in 2022, like two of our best three wins came during the SEC Tournament.

But I think if things are close between teams that the games still matter.

Sounds about right

I think if we did this we may be the last 2 Seed. A win over Auburn would be our big win to go with our already complete rest of the resume.

My expectation, but I hope they surprise and go 6-3 again an lock up a 2 seed.

In my opinion:
7-2 gets us for sure a 2 seed.
6-3 gets us a 2 or 3 seed depending on what else plays out with some of our wins and losses.
5-4 gets us a likely 3 or high 4 seed.
Anything less we're a 4 seed or below.

6-3 and I think 7-2 is more likely than 5-4.

@FL and Aub are games where we will be dogs, maybe by 5 or so.

UGA, Arky, Vandy, and @LSU are games that if played today we'd be favored by more than 5.

@Mizzou, @State, and Tenn are coin flips.

That analysis says pick between 6-3 and 5-4. I will go with the latter and hope to be surprised. We tend to play everyone closer than we should.

Well, Aggie basketball actually performs above their talent level relative to other team's talent level, sooooo…..

Not so sure about @ Arky. They are gelling now and I don't remember us ever winning at Fayetteville. We have won at Fayetteville but I just can't remember it. Overall Ags are 11-41 in Fayetteville . Actually better than I thought it would be.

Well that changes my opinion somewhat. For some reason I had in my mind it was there.

Possible to be 6-3 but the schedule is challenging

6-3 and we get the last 2 seed.

Right now we have the resume metrics of a solid 2 seed, and the predictive metrics of a 3/4 seed. The predictive metrics have us going 5-4 to finish, so (IMO) if we buck that and go 6-3, thats going to put us right on that 2 seed line.

No matter how they come, winning 6 of our next 9 games is going to mean we got some MAJOR Q1A wins down the stretch. Even if we just win the rest of our home games and @ LSU, that means wins over both Tennessee and Auburn and the only losses coming @Mizzou, @MSST and @Florida. The only caveat is we probably need to win at least 1 of the UT/Auburn games to be in the 2 seed discussion (assuming 6-3 down the stretch).

Things have to start gelling better and more consistently on offense for us to win 6 more in my mind. But it all starts tomorrow!

It is Texags basketball board. 7 and 2. Lose to Missouri. Doomsday posters come out of the woodworks. They get beaten down for a bunch of wins. Then reappear when we lose to Auburn to end the regular season.
