This is nitpicky, but I find Buzz doing this in national media interviews to be a disservice to the athlete. Using nicknames in practice, games, and even A&M focused (texags interviews, weekly radio show) media is fine.
But to get on ESPN and start touting how mentally tough a player is, how they are clutch, how hard they work, what great teammates they are and you are using a name no one outside of A&M can even relate to a person (ie potential scout), that could actually affect the player. He loves to publicly love on his players, and that is awesome, but how would someone outside A&M know who you are talking about? It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out Gochi and I follow the program.
It's nitpicky. I nitpick.
