The winning bucket was not a called play by the coach. What I will give him credit for is some brilliant substitutions down the stretch and not calling a timeout to set up the last shot. He just let his players create. That was genius.
Your comment had nothing to do with the winning bucket. It was about Buzz Williams in general. People who say Buzz is not a good coach have no credibility. Every single former coach, analyst and studio host raves about Buzz's coaching. For you to think you know better than them is laughable.
My opinion of his coaching acumen is nothing more than that. Does he win more than he loses absolutely. I probably should have said his style is sometimes not conducive to coaching his current talent to the ultimate prize. He is definitely an above average defensive and rebounding coach. In all of his stops he has struggled to coach offense. But, I would love him to prove me foolish before his tenure at A&M ends. Even better if it is this season.
The ugly basketball is a feature of the system, not a bug. You seem to think he's taking elite talent and hindering their abilities as offensive playmakers. The truth is that he's taking good talent and using a style of play that can beat elite talent. We will never consistently bring elite players to A&M.
We have had coaches who previously brought superior talent to A&M. What is it about Buzz that can't bring elite talent to A&M. Just actually curious as to your opinion.

In listing elite prospects (whoever posted that) - he forgot to list Wright. He was rated very high. I think boosters helped Melvin with that one. He still messed it up though.
Why was the backcourt call not reviewed? They review deflections out of bounds for possession all the time?
I'm pretty sure - time of game. Those replays happen final 2 minutes I believe.

Didn't watch the game, but saw the score with 46 seconds left and thought, "oh man, they have a chance". I didn't want to stay up and just watch gamecast on espn.com, so I decided I'd check the score this morning. OH MAN! I immediately came to this thread to read the boo birds before the win and I was not disappointed. It is sad and hilarious how many people crap on this team when they are in a tight game on the road with a 1A opponent.
I'm not a huge basketball fan, but I am a big Aggie fan. I like Buzz Williams also. I think I'd like him to have a long and successful career ending with retirement here after a couple of championships.
