Derailing this thread back to tonight's game. Say what you want about Buzz but I bet he, unlike Beard, would have actually called his last timeout instead of sit there and watch his team roll around on the ground while time runs out.

Payne, Obaseki, and Washington are elite talent, imo. Maybe not elite players, but any coach would welcome their athletic ability.
I've never seen better athletes in A&M uniforms. Maybe the 1980 squad was comparable for its time.
Our roster is NOT loaded with NBA talent. We have some NBA G League guys with Potential for NBA contracts, but no lottery picks. There are NO DeAndre Jordan's or Khris Middleton's on this team. Buzz is getting the absolute Most out of the kids he's got.
(Payne is an interesting prospect but needs a lot of work).
Middleton was not considered an elite prospect at any point ever. What are you even talking about?

I'd argue that Time Lord was an elite prospect, physically, at least. He was the #1 player in Louisiana the year he came out. He wasn't a "super blue" or anything, but he has always been freaky.

Middleton was ALWAYS an Elite Shooter with Size. That's why he was Drafted, not a Free Agent Signing. How many guys has A&M had DRAFTED into the NBA?

Officially lost a little confidence in this squad.
We have the talent. Buzz just doesn't know how to use it or coach it. That's why we play such ugly basketball.
Foolish
The winning bucket was not a called play by the coach. What I will give him credit for is some brilliant substitutions down the stretch and not calling a timeout to set up the last shot. He just let his players create. That was genius.
Your comment had nothing to do with the winning bucket. It was about Buzz Williams in general. People who say Buzz is not a good coach have no credibility. Every single former coach, analyst and studio host raves about Buzz's coaching. For you to think you know better than them is laughable.
My opinion of his coaching acumen is nothing more than that. Does he win more than he loses absolutely. I probably should have said his style is sometimes not conducive to coaching his current talent to the ultimate prize. He is definitely an above average defensive and rebounding coach. In all of his stops he has struggled to coach offense. But, I would love him to prove me foolish before his tenure at A&M ends. Even better if it is this season.
The ugly basketball is a feature of the system, not a bug. You seem to think he's taking elite talent and hindering their abilities as offensive playmakers. The truth is that he's taking good talent and using a style of play that can beat elite talent. We will never consistently bring elite players to A&M.
We have had coaches who previously brought superior talent to A&M. What is it about Buzz that can't bring elite talent to A&M. Just actually curious as to your opinion.

definitely an elite athlete and it was obvious in the first couple games. Where was he ranked as a recruit?
Top 50 ish?

I am guilty of sending out a group text at the half "Manny must never see the floor again. At least not tonight".
I also said in this thread if I like this lineup minus Manny (unless he comes out of his coma). Just holy *****
He did have the worst +/- of the first half. It was fair criticism. Manny is such a streaky player.AggByMarriage said:sometimes the best part of being wrong is just being wrong.johnnyblaze36 said:

They also kept heckling Solo in particular as far as I could tell. Any idea what that was about?Complete Idiot said:
Can anyone tell what Ole Miss fans were chanting with 1:30 left in the game? Was it "Aggies suck"?
Please say yes.
Palpable Buzz Williams.

We would have had a steal anyway, but we got a 10 second call against Ole Miss at the 56 second mark when I only saw it in the backcourt 8 seconds.

I've seen middle school basketball games with more excitement.
Whenever Solo dove for a loose ball and had his ankle twisted near the sideline, there were a few courtside OM fans who got up and shouted at him. Not sure if that's where it started, but I noticed on the replay.Ags2013 said:They also kept heckling Solo in particular as far as I could tell. Any idea what that was about?Complete Idiot said:
