I get the sentiment of the lack of consistency...another crew, and we might have seen 70 FTs tonight. Not sure I buy the conspiracy, but when we were 7-8, i was thinking, "great, the night we hit FTs we get a crew that is letting everything go in the paint".Kansas Kid said:Before we started intentionally fouling at the end, we had 4 fouls to Ole Miss with 11 and you are saying the refs/SEC were out to get us?ahpetty33 said:
Idk how the SEC can allow crews to have such discrepancies in how they call fouls. These guys tonight just decided "A&M tries to win ugly by shooting free throws, let's call zero fouls all game "

This wasn't bad for a team that won't make the tournament.
the ceiling is the roof. Realistically, it's however far Wade/Zhuric can take us, but as you see tonight, if it's UGLY there is always a chance. Hef, Wilcher and Manny have to feel great after this game. This was a huge confidence builder that an off Wade night won't guarantee a loss.NewArmy12 said:
I am not a basketball guy. What is the ceiling for this team? I saw us whoop on Texas. I saw us sneak by OU. I watched us miss no less than a million FT against Bama. Now this Ole Miss game…not sure to do with this data.

The winning bucket was not a called play by the coach. What I will give him credit for is some brilliant substitutions down the stretch and not calling a timeout to set up the last shot. He just let his players create. That was genius.

I think you are right. If this team gets it all together (healthy, mentally, hitting shots), they can play with anyone.linkdude said:the ceiling is the roof. Agree...I only saw the second half, and I was CERTAINLY grateful they let them play the last 13 seconds!Fquin said:AlwaysNextYear89 said:I get the sentiment of the lack of consistency...another crew, and we might have seen 70 FTs tonight. I believe the officiating in this game was due to both teams' reputations as great defensive and rebounding teams. The officials took that into consideration and let them play to their strengths. It was called the same way on both ends.

Georgia, Ole Miss and South Carolina led for 119:14 of 120 minutes of game time combined tonight.

They went 0-3.

Manny Obaseki was the X-factor last year in A&M’s two wins over Ole Miss to close the regular season and in the SEC Tournament.

37 points, 54% from the field, 57% from three, 2 steals, and just 3 turnovers in two games against the Rebels.

Your comment had nothing to do with the winning bucket. It was about Buzz Williams in general. People who say Buzz is not a good coach have no credibility. Every single former coach, analyst and studio host raves about Buzz's coaching. For you to think you know better than them is laughable.

That's 99.36 percent of the combined game time they all led - and all three lost. That may be the wildest stat I've seen in a long, long time.

My opinion of his coaching acumen is nothing more than that. Does he win more than he loses absolutely. I probably should have said his style is sometimes not conducive to coaching his current talent to the ultimate prize. He is definitely an above average defensive and rebounding coach. In all of his stops he has struggled to coach offense. But, I would love him to prove me foolish before his tenure at A&M ends. Even better if it is this season.

Learned something. I figured with 2 games a week, they probably stuck with the same conference, but I guess it's possible some of these guys are calling 4-5 a week? Anyone know an NCAA basketball official?CapCityAg89 said:

The ugly basketball is a feature of the system, not a bug. You seem to think he's taking elite talent and hindering their abilities as offensive playmakers. The truth is that he's taking good talent and using a style of play that can beat elite talent. We will never consistently bring elite players to A&M.
