Can't remember a crowd going from that confident and loud to that quiet and defeated.

Idk how the SEC can allow crews to have such discrepancies in how they call fouls. These guys tonight just decided "A&M tries to win ugly by shooting free throws, let's call zero fouls all game "
Before we started intentionally fouling at the end, we had 4 fouls to Ole Miss with 11 and you are saying the refs/SEC were out to get us?
I get the sentiment of the lack of consistency...another crew, and we might have seen 70 FTs tonight. Not sure I buy the conspiracy, but when we were 7-8, i was thinking, "great, the night we hit FTs we get a crew that is letting everything go in the paint".

I am not a basketball guy. What is the ceiling for this team? I saw us whoop on Texas. I saw us sneak by OU. I watched us miss no less than a million FT against Bama. Now this Ole Miss game…not sure to do with this data.
the ceiling is the roof. Realistically, it's however far Wade/Zhuric can take us, but as you see tonight, if it's UGLY there is always a chance. Hef, Wilcher and Manny have to feel great after this game. This was a huge confidence builder that an off Wade night won't guarantee a loss.

I got carried away but I've also watched this team and this sport a bunch and know not to freak out when you are trailing a game and take a some bad shots.

Officially lost a little confidence in this squad.

We have the talent. Buzz just doesn't know how to use it or coach it. That's why we play such ugly basketball.

Foolish

The winning bucket was not a called play by the coach. What I will give him credit for is some brilliant substitutions down the stretch and not calling a timeout to set up the last shot. He just let his players create. That was genius.

Your comment had nothing to do with the winning bucket. It was about Buzz Williams in general. People who say Buzz is not a good coach have no credibility. Every single former coach, analyst and studio host raves about Buzz's coaching. For you to think you know better than them is laughable.

I believe the officiating in this game was due to both teams' reputations as great defensive and rebounding teams. The officials took that into consideration and let them play to their strengths. It was called the same way on both ends.

I think you are right. If this team gets it all together (healthy, mentally, hitting shots), they can play with anyone.

Fouls don't have to be even but I didn't think either team benefited at all from the officiating. The over and back was bad and there were some others I thought went their way. Both teams stopped attacking the rim once they realized the fouls weren't coming.

Buzzs' teams are a work in progress until late February/early March. This is a team that loves to play hard by doing all the dirty work that most teams don't want too.

This years team is winning a lot of different ways, and it seems to be one of the most balanced teams we have had in a Long time.

We are not gona be a Pretty team like Bama, or Tennessee. This is an OLD School basketball team that is Built for March Madness. I would NOT want to play us. That's who we are.

That's great and all, but a league that doesn't enforce the rules consistently all season and from game to game hurts the league. Players get used to what calls are made and the things they can get away with. When it changes game to game, it forces the players to adjust to refereeing on top of having to adjust to their opponent. And it really hurts in the NCAA tourney when fouls are focused on and games called in a way these guys have never seen.

My opinion of his coaching acumen is nothing more than that. Does he win more than he loses absolutely. I probably should have said his style is sometimes not conducive to coaching his current talent to the ultimate prize. He is definitely an above average defensive and rebounding coach. In all of his stops he has struggled to coach offense. But, I would love him to prove me foolish before his tenure at A&M ends. Even better if it is this season.

Buzz coaches basketball the same way Dan Campbell coaches football. Attitude and effort and it works most of the time. There may be some gaps in the X's and O's but his dudes show up.

Dude has more wins against ranked teams on the road in his 6 years here than the A&M program had in the preceeding 37 years but please continue telling us how terrible he is at coaching.

The ugly basketball is a feature of the system, not a bug. You seem to think he's taking elite talent and hindering their abilities as offensive playmakers. The truth is that he's taking good talent and using a style of play that can beat elite talent. We will never consistently bring elite players to A&M.

We have had coaches who previously brought superior talent to A&M. What is it about Buzz that can't bring elite talent to A&M. Just actually curious as to your opinion.
