Up until the last two games, Manny and Phelps were the same player. Boots and Wade are the exact same players with better finishing skills.
Buzz isn't pressuring them to make shots at a high percentage. He wants them driving to the bucket and drawing the defense and getting a shot to the rim. Once the shot bounces around on the rim, our guys are attacking the boards with the advantage of the defenders drawn slightly out of position giving us an offensive rebound and putback advantage.
It's a system that all works together. As much as we would all like those guys to make more of their shots, I don't think Buzz cares too much as long as they, first, avoid the live ball turnover on the drive to the rim and, second, get the ball to the rim somehow someway.
Blocks, air balls, and turnovers all break the system in a similar way. And you end up with a first half like we had last night.
