When the wild circus shots stop working, buzz has proven time and time again that he has zero ability to scheme some easy looks. Oregon did this to perfection when they went down 10….timeout and then it was easy bucket after easy bucket while we wildly ran the other way and kept turning it over
That really hurts. I don't like how sloppy he allows them to be without calling a timeout and ripping guys new holes then sending them out with halfway decent sets to run
Decent first 30 minutes, horrid last 10.
32-12 in the last 9:35, and I think two made FGs in that stretch.
On to Creighton, and maybe Oregon will go on to have a decent season.

Brutal.
That big run was exactly how they wanted to play the whole game. We did a great job up to that point frustrating them on the defensive end, but after that big run we had to completely conform to their style.
Didn't help that Wade had a rough go of it and couldn't buy a basket with some really good looks.

10-34 is just not efficient enough from Wade/Phelps. They were really good for stretches of this game, but were really poor at the end. Have to have better play in crunch time to win these close games.
How does the seeding work here? Since the two day-one winners in our group play each other tomorrow, does that mean we are the third seed at best?
Buzz has to find a way to use Wade more as a decoy late in games. Teams zone in on him. You can tell how they defend him coming off screens. We all love him and he's a damn good college player, but he's tiny and can be shut down when teams throw everything at him. Not his fault but it is what it is

Buzz is extremely frustrating. Good at some things but not Xs and Os.
this. He continually let's players make the same mistakes over and over again.
We were going to play Creighton regardless of results today. I believe the Saturday matchup which is cross-bracket might have to do with the W/L prior.

That was an extremely bad loss. Oregon is not an exceptional team. We simply play like a selfish team and are out of control too much of the time on offense. This team better figure out their identity and how to play together or this is going to a season full of bad losses.

This is false lol he's very good at getting guys to buy into the need to play hard defense and hustle. Being the number one offense rebounding team in the country showed that. I'm all for calling him out but let's be realistic

A) he has to not foul big guys when he's already in foul trouble. There are good times for him to foul a big but most of the time he should let it go

Frustrating how we did exactly what we should not do. Turnovers. Bad looks. Didn't control any flow of the game at all. Couldn't even run our play after the inbounds at the end.

Not sticking him down low on the weak side when we go zone would be a good start. He can't stop anything on the low post and worse he seems to think he can, leading to dumb fouls on bigs every game.
